I would suggest setting up an email client on your computer to receive your AOL mail so e-mails are never deleted by AOL (as they will be stored on your computer). Select the email file, then click Action> Move to Inbox to recover it to your AOL mail. Click the Trash Folder in the side menu bar and open it. Or you can log into the account in the desktop Outlook on your PC. Information about AOL emails being deleted or removed from the AOL free email service can be read at: If you would like to keep a copy of your emails on your computer and make sure that they are never deleted by AOL in the future you would want to use an e-mail client on your computer (Such as outlook express, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, etc.). Go to the online AOL mail, then log into your AOL account. This is because AOL is where the emails were stored (not on your computer). From what you have described your older emails were deleted from the AOL server and can only be retrieved by AOL directly (if at all). Recover AOL mail from the Trash > Log into your AOL account > click Trash on the sidebar > find the deleted emails you need > click. After some time AOL will delete older emails (and email accounts) if they are not opened or used. If they email was moved to the trash folder seven days or less before recovery, you can retrieve in through your email account. Welcome to ! The AOL free email service allows users to receive emails and keep them on the AOL servers for a limited amount of time.
